You can reach Pawna lake from mumbai via lonavala. there are number of ways to reach at pawna lake via Lonavala. Pawna Lake is easily reachable by all the ways, 120 km from Mumbai and 20 km from Lonavala You can reach at site by Old Pune-Mumbai Highway or Expressway and also by Train.

1) By Mumbai-Pune Expressway: Mumbai > Lonavala > Exit After 2nd Baur Tunnel > Pawna Lake.
it is the best and fastest route from mumbai to Pawna lake, NO TRAFFIC Route (minimum traffic Only at Khandala Ghat Section). this route is suggested for Four wheelers only, No Two wheelers allowed to Expressway.

How to know Pawna Lake Expressway Exit point is near?
19 km/17 Mins ahead of Lonavala. You'll see Two Tunnels (Baur Tunnel). As soon as you crosses 2nd Tunnel, take your car to left/Outer lane and slow down your speed (40) and left indicator. You'll see "Police Check Post / पोलीस मदत चौकी" Board on your left side. This exist point is small and Sharp U-TURN type so look properly .
Note: if you Miss this point, so there is no Exit till 15 km, Toll plaza to take U-TURN.
Wear seat belts, online cameras!
Once you Take the Exit, continue On Exit Off-Road 500 mtr./2 mins, at the End you'll see Main
Road-->Take Left Turn, under The bridge and start Camping Property location which you already have.
2) By Old Pune-Mumbai Highway: Mumbai --> Lonavala --> Kamshet --> Pawna Lake
This route is most popular, suggested for Car, Bike, AutoRickshaw, Train Travelers, also for those who don't have personal vehicles. it's a 130 kms drive from Mumbai to Pawna Lake via Lonavala > Kamshet.
A) By your personal vehicle or Bike:
start from Mumbai by old Pune - Mumbai Highway > Lonavala (Hotel Kumar Resort Chowk) > Continue Straight 29 Mins/18 Km to Kamshet > take exit to service road at Kamshet > take Right Turn Under the Bridge and continue for 27 Mins/17 Km to Pawna Lake.
Note: As you reach Lonavala, Near Hotel Kumar Resort Chowk, goole map shows you to take Right Turn > Through Lonavala Main Market > Pawna Lake, suggetion to avaoid this route cause this route saves your 5 kms only but Not Time, full of Traffic at Lonavala Main Market, Rough, Twist & Turns, Short Road, Accident Prone Hill/Forest Road. so Via Kamshet is the best Route to Pawna Lake.
B) By Train From Mumbai > Lonavala > Kamshet Railway Station > Pawna Lake:
Start from Mumbai Railway Station By Express Train (Check Express train timings, about 150 Rs Ticket) > Reach at Lonavala Railway Station > Grab Local Train From Lonavala railway station to Kamshet railway station (check local train timings, about 10 Rs Ticket) > From Kamshet Railway station Hire a Local Travelers/AutoRickshaw (17 km) to Pawna Lake.
